Gabel Associates resides on the forefront of electric vehicle (EV) policy, analysis, and implementation.  Through our active work with this rapidly growing technology, the firm has established itself as a market leader, allowing us to effectively support government entities (counties, municipalities, etc.), not-for-profits, and corporate clients as they navigate through the EV space.

The firm is actively involved in EV transition and infrastructure planning for diverse end-users that are preparing to electrify their fleets and install EV charging infrastructure. We are “ahead of the curve” of the EV revolution and can provide our clients with an optimal plan for meetings their electrification goals.

Our client work is informed by the firm’s activity in market and policy advocacy for vehicle electrification in New Jersey. Gabel Associates founded and is managing ChargEVC (www.chargevc.org), a not-for-profit coalition that strives to accelerate EVs in a balanced and sustainable manner in the Mid-Atlantic region.  ChargEVC is currently comprised of over 30 diverse members and includes utilities, charging companies, car retailers and manufacturers, environmental groups, and others.   The coalition’s focus includes proactive advocacy, outreach, and collaboration with policy makers to develop programs and policies that address barriers to EV adoption and improve accessibility to EV charging infrastructure.  ChargEVC is unique in that it provides state-level EV planning and advocacy, based on a local presence, and in consideration of location conditions.

As part of its ChargEVC role, the firm also completed ground-breaking cost-benefit analysis for New Jersey, which modelled energy market and grid infrastructure impacts. The firm works collaboratively with policy makers and has significant experience in advancing regulatory strategies that address the infrastructure, economic, and environmental issues related to EVs.  We were also directly involved in New Jersey’s comprehensive EV bill, which was signed into law by Governor Murphy on January 17, 2020 and is considered to be one of the most progressive EV laws in the nation.

We are also providing comprehensive EV support for a range of utilities throughout the region. Our services include market analysis, strategic planning, offer design, filing development, cost-benefit analysis, expert testimony, and program implementation and support.
