Gabel Associates provides a full slate of services to bulk power generators, working with our clients on strategic planning, generation project development, interconnection activities, and commercial issues.
Gabel Associates has been the lead consultant for 17 years to the Independent Energy Producers of New Jersey, the trade association for New Jersey's wholesale power generation industry. We evaluate major economic and environmental initiatives being considered by the New Jersey legislative and executive branches and then help to develop effective approaches that recognize market realities and policy developments.
Our experience spans across all sizes of generation projects and includes projects for such clients as GE, Wheelabrator, El Paso, Cogentrix, Calpine, Rockland Capital, Goldman Sachs, and North American Energy Alliance, LLC.
Our project development services begin with price and market forecasts, technical evaluations and expert economic analysis, which grant our clients the opportunity to make informed decisions about their generation initiatives. Our market analysis identifies and evaluates the most advantageous opportunities for our clients to sell their energy. We handle contract negotiation and sales, working to achieve advantageous terms that profit and protect our clients.
Gabel Associates' expertise in this area is supported by our active involvement in the development of tariffs and policy at the PJM Regional Transmission Organization (RTO).
Gabel Associates has also negotiated the restructuring of long-term power purchase contracts for many of its generation clients and marketed their available energy and capacity. We were engaged to renegotiate and win regulatory approval for 11 of 13 long-term power purchase agreements following the restructuring of New Jersey's energy industry.
Our work in the regulatory arena means that we are familiar with all environmental and public utility regulations facing power generators, so we work with our clients to help them meet air quality and emissions standards in developing new facilities or retrofitting existing ones. We help our clients comply with Clean Air Act requirements and assist them with NOx cap and trade issues, Ozone Transport Commission directives, and mercury regulations.
