Mr. Preiss has over 30 years of combined experience in the electric utility industry and previously worked for several large electric utilities. He has an extensive background that encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibility including utility regulation, rate strategy, power contracting, analysis, cost of service studies, transmission services and power markets. Mr. Preiss has taken an active role in providing assistance to clients in successfully implementing renewable energy projects such as landfill gas-to-energy, solar photovoltaic and wind turbine projects. He is proficient at performing detailed economic analysis to help clients understand the costs and benefits associated with project implementation. He also excels in managing procurement activities and analytical activities for electric generation.

Mr. Preiss is actively involved in the renewable energy marketplace, both in the development of renewable energy policy in the region and in assisting clients in maximizing value from their renewable energy projects. Mr. Preiss also develops economic procurement options for energy supply that conforms to our clients' goals and risk profiles. He provides high value advice on the evolving retail, wholesale and generation market segments.

Mr. Preiss has an extensive background in utility regulation and rate strategy and has provided expert testimony numerous times. His responsibilities have included ratemaking principles, revenue requirement analysis, cost of service studies, tariff design, distribution engineering, power contracting, transmission services and power marketing. He also has extensive regulatory affairs expertise in electric and water markets. He assists clients in monitoring the evolving business practices of various ISOs and understanding their economic and business implications.

Mr. Preiss earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College, a M.S. in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a MBA in Finance from the New York Institute of Technology.
